🍽️ Dining

Oslos eldste restaurant, siden 1857
Engebret Café opened in 1857 and has been located in the same corner building at Bankplassen in Kvadraturen ever since. Ibsen, Bjørnson and Grieg were among the guests, and the restaurant remains a favorite haunt for the city's cultural life. The menu is traditional Norwegian with seasonal dishes; autumn and the pre-Christmas season with lutefisk, rakfisk and pinnekjøtt is high season, and then it's wise to book early. In summer there is outdoor seating on the square in front of the Bank of Norway. Open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday.
