About Kaffistova
Kaffistova is one of the last surviving of the many "coffee halls" that the rural youth associations ran in Norwegian cities, and has been in operation since 1901. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Hotel Bondeheimen, a couple of minutes from Karl Johan. The menu is Norwegian everyday food: meatballs in brown sauce, elk steaks, fish balls, sour cream porridge, potato dumplings and home-baked cakes, served cafeteria-style. The place is popular with both tourists who want to taste traditional Norwegian food and the city's own lunch guests.
